TTC provides specialist advice in economic impact studies using market research and economic modelling as well as economic appraisal of potential investments. These range from public to private sector and from bricks and mortar to events. TTC has extensive experience in event appraisal and impact.
Caribbean
TTC
conducted tourism economic studies in six Caribbean destinations funded
by the European Development Fund. The project was designed to create permanent
data collection and analysis systems and an economic input model appropriate
tom island economies. Knowledge transfer was an essential part of the
project.
Belfast
TTC
has carried out a number of economic impact studies of events for Belfast
City Council. Using a professional field force and structures questionnaire
and an economic model, valuable information on the overall economic impact
is provided along with data on the running of the event and issues relating
to marketing and access. Notable events that were examined were the Lord
Mayor's Show and the New Years Eve Festival.
Dublin
TTC
reviewed the effectiveness of the St Patrick's Day Festival as a tool
for tourism promotion for Ireland. While overseas had seen major festivals
developed around the theme, promotion in Ireland had been limited. New
structures and investment had been put in place and the review examined
the impact on tourism especially as a week long opener to the tourism
season.
Sport
TTC
completed a Feasibility Study and Economic Appraisal of a round of the
World Rally Championship for Ireland in 2007. TTC has appraised many leading
sports events on the island of Ireland. From American football in Dublin,
to cycling, to motor sport and to soccer the company has built up a wide
portfolio of appraisals. Clients have included the Northern Ireland Events
Company and Bord Fáilte – Irish Tourist Board. Coupled with
economic impact studies of sports events we have a wealth of experience
in this arena.
