ISLA
TTC
undertook a review of six Northern European islands under the INTERREG
111 Programme. These were Bere Island in Ireland, Tiengemeten in Netherlands,
Kéménez in France, Bressay in Shetlands and Islay in Inner
Hebrides (both Scotland ). The review was part of a wider examination
of the role of islands in economic and social development. The key tourism
issues examined related to capacity, management, marketing, product and
future approaches to development.
Following the completion of the first assignment at a major conference in Rotterdam in March 2007 TTC was appointed to lead a consultancy team preparing the Final Report of the complete ISLA Project. This was presented at the Final Conference in Rothesay in March 2008.
